Hi Reader,
A quick update before we dive into this week's insights.
The new Cycle Cities website is now live and looking significantly cleaner, more professional, and much easier to navigate.
Over the past weeks I've also been reviewing member profiles and, while doing so, I've noticed that some information is no longer up to date. In a few cases, social media usernames have changed, websites have been updated, or descriptions no longer reflect the current business.
If you haven't, could you take a few minutes to review their company profile?
If you spot anything that needs updating, just send me the changes and I'll make sure everything stays accurate and professional.
Your profile is often one of the first places potential partners, members, and customers will discover your business, so it's worth keeping it current.

Symposium News ๐ค
Hamburg preparations continue to move forward at a good pace.
Lars is now very close to finalizing an agreement with the Symposium hotel, which means we'll soon be able to share accommodation details and booking information with everyone.
We're gradually locking in all the pieces that turn a good Symposium into a great one: venue, accommodation, networking opportunities, local experiences, and of course a few surprises along the way.
More information coming very soon.
If you haven't registered yet, there's still time to secure your place.

Groupwork Gold Nuggets ๐
This week we move to a new table:
Morning Group E: Operational Excellence โ Logistics (Yannis Skiadopoulos, Rupert Riedl, Kay Farrell, Hegoi Iparaguirre, Pedro Basso, Gerard Feijen)
- How do you handle bike maintenance for a fleet that is constantly on the move?
The following content is only visible for the Cycle Cities Members.
|
|
|
โข Seasonal Prioritizationโ During peak season, maintenance efforts focus primarily on keeping bikes operational and addressing immediate issues as quickly as possible.
โข Service Tracking Systemsโ In quieter periods, operators use a variety of methods to track maintenance history, including spreadsheets, QR codes, and colour-coded stickers attached to frames.
โข Regular Full Serviceโ While approaches differ, there was broad agreement on one objective: every bike should receive a complete service approximately every two months.
Insight: The best maintenance systems aren't necessarily the most sophisticated. They're the ones that are simple enough to use consistently, even when the season gets busy.

Tool of the Week ๐ ๏ธ
This week I'm doing something slightly different.
Instead of sending you a new tool, I'd like to ask for your help building the next one.
Over the past few months, we've created practical resources around direct bookings, content, partnerships, referrals, Google Ads, and AI visibility. Most of those guides started with conversations inside the community and the challenges you're facing every day.
Now I'd like to take that one step further.
Cycle Cities Ads & Acquisition Survey
We're collecting real-world data from members to better understand:
- What channels are actually generating bookings today
- Which marketing activities are delivering results
- What isn't working anymore
- How operators are balancing direct bookings, OTAs, referrals, partnerships, and paid advertising
The goal is to gather insights directly from the people doing the work: you.
Once we have enough responses, I'll analyse the results and turn them into a practical resource for the community, built on real operator data rather than generic marketing advice.
The more responses we receive, the more valuable the findings will be for everyone.

Community โ Highlights โก๏ธ
A few quick community updates:
The City Poster Returns
While digging through Cycle Cities archives, I managed to find the old city poster featuring our member destinations. I'll be sharing it with members again very soon.
London Bicycle Tour Company Newsletter
A quick shout-out to London Bicycle Tour Company for their recent newsletter covering their new e-bike offering.
It's always interesting to see how members communicate with their customers and position new products.
If your company sends newsletters and you'd like us to keep an eye on what you're doing, feel free to add: info@cyclecities.comto your mailing list.
I'd love to see more examples of what members are creating.
See you in the next buzz,
Isabella
