Published about 1 month ago • 1 min read
Hi Reader,
Martin's photos from Symposium are up! Martin has taken official photos for us at every event since the start. Make sure you give them a like and a share :)
Groupwork was expanded at Lisbon 2026 to include both a morning AND afternoon breakaway. That's a total of 16 unique groups, answering 3 questions each.. that's 48 important questions answered by 42 of the most powerful brains in the bike tour world.
A lot to take in? Let's make it 'snackable'. One question will be featured per week in upcoming buzzes. Let's start at the very beginning
Group Morning A
Wollo Wollenberg, Ińigo Ansa, Sergio Morales, Manos Panagiotakis, Peter Unkelbach, Andreas Pfeiffer
The Visionaries: Scale & Strategy
1. How do you maintain a premium guest experience while scaling to a "big fleet" operation?
• Itinerary Reversing: To handle up to 10 concurrent groups, start groups at opposite ends of the city (Groups A-C at one end, D-F at the other) to prevent overcrowding at specific sites. • Morning/Afternoon Splits: Split large bookings into morning and afternoon sessions; this allows the highest-quality, best-trained guides to lead both sessions rather than relying on "random" or lower-quality guides. • Standardization: Scale the business by standardizing the tour route, the script, and the hardware (using a single bike model) to ensure a consistent experience across the entire fleet. • Strict Capacity Limits: Maintain a firm limit of 8 to 10 guests per tour guide to preserve service quality. • Gamification: Increase engagement by adding interactive elements, such as a gambling game with chips that encourages guests to answer questions throughout the tour.
Have a look at the gold nuggets from your group. Has AI captured everything you wanted to say? If not, let me know and I can edit the response. Cycle cities is all about knowledge sharing, so let's make sure it's valuable!
Whatsapp Community
Mighty Networks Discussion is now closed, and we have moved over to the Whatsapp community.
Consultation on the future of the community has ended. Symposium was a very valuable sounding board. It's now time to put the politics behind us.
The new community strategy will be announced soon. All membership payments are paused until the announcement. Reply email if you have any questions in the meantime.
See you in the Whatsapp community, and the next buzz!

Hi Reader, After a lot of work behind the scenes, we’re finally ready to share what’s next. Cycle Cities is evolving: from a community into something more structured, more focused, and more directly linked to business growth. And with that comes a new membership program. From Community to Growth Platform For years, Cycle Cities has been built on something very strong: Trust Open knowledge sharing Real connections between operators But one thing has been clear: 👉 There’s a lot of value in this...
Hi Reader, My first week stepping into this role has been challenging, in the best way. There’s a lot happening behind the scenes, a lot to connect, and a lot of potential to unlock, which makes it a very interesting place to be right now. Social Media — Let’s get things moving 📲 One of my first priorities is to reactivate Cycle Cities’ social media, mainly Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn. If you’re not following Cycle Cities yet, now is a good moment to do it: 👉 Instagram👉 Facebook👉...
Hi Reader, Introducing myself Hi Reader, Some of you already saw me pop into the WhatsApp group this week, but for those who don’t know me yet, I wanted to properly introduce myself. My name is Isabella, and I’ll be stepping in as Managing Director for the next 6 months, working closely with Steve while he takes a well-deserved step back. I come from a project management background across different industries, from film production, to events, and now in a creative marketing agency. Different...
